Old gear tests by Kolin Powick at BD

Interesting collection of short articles/analysis of the failure point of old gear and odd/un-safe setups.  The near accident that leads to the article “Connecting Two Slings Together” was of special interest.  Check your gear often and keep to the best known practices.

Keep in mind that these tests were done with few test points and they are not official UIAA tests, but they still make for interesting reading.

Kolin Powick is the Director of Global Quality at Black Diamond Equipment.
