Who organized?
Ashley Berman Hale

Since this is the first meetup for this group - just come with questions in mind. We'll answer specific questions and guide the larger conversation based on everyone's needs and interests. Everyone from every level is welcome!

This session does not approach SEO from a "black hat" manner in any way. We are all about figuring out the best ethical, white hat methods to succeeding online. It's all about making sense of the algorithm - not just manipulating it. Our goal is to offer companies the resources that they need to feel more empowered to succeed online.

    •  I asked the most questions! Thanks to Ashley, and everyone else there, for all the answers!
    •  Great environment, pretty mixed group of people. Ashley did an amazing job of heading things up and giving a good solid overview of SEO. A lot of questions were answered, and some great questions were raised.
    •  I think that we had a great introductory meeting. While some areas may not have been addressed, the main scope of the meeting, SEO - What you Need to know, was well defined and all of the most important apsects of SEO were discussed.
    •  Good mix of people, skills and abilities made of a lively and informative discussion.
    •  It was a good group that seemed very interested in the subject. The only difficulty was that there was a disparity of experience levels. Since there is an advanced SEO meetup in the works, considering making this a beginners/intermediate group so we can target more specific and relevant content matter.

I thought it was a good first meeting; Ashley and Jim kept it moving in the face of "newbie" opposition ;) But seriously folks... I think the real challenge will be in serving both the inexperienced and professional crowd, but it's certainly possible. Based on other Meetups I've attended, moving toward a more structured presentation / single concept QA session format will probably be more productive. Perhaps we establish / recommend some online outline or flowchart of the building blocks of SEO. I haven't looked, maybe there's a well-maintained wiki out there already.
