When I lived in DuPage I organized a project for Make A Difference Day in which we collected backpacks and travel items for children in foster care. We filled backpacks with things like personal hygiene items, books, toys, stuffed animals, journals and pens, etc. I wondered if anyone might be interested in doing this?
I did learn from experience that its better to get started organizing it as early as possible. Our project in DuPage could have been a lot better if I had started planning it earlier! I also no longer have a place I could offer as a drop-off place for materials. (I'm staying with my parents now and they won't even let me have visitors, let alone a parade of random people dropping off donations!) So basically I'm just tossing out the idea and seeing if others would be interested in picking it up! :) |
