Adopt a Family!

Greetings!

As some of you may know, I am a Spanish language medical interpreter for work comp patients.  One of my patients is head of household and he injured his shoulder while working.  He has four kids (girl/age 7, boy/age 9, boy/age 13 (who is deaf), and girl/age 16.  He had surgery two weeks ago and he has not had an income now for several weeks.  His work comp money has not starting rolling in. Having been on work comp myself, I know how that is!

I am asking for your help because otherwise, I don't know what kind of Christmas they will have.  I recently referred them to a food bank, but when they went, the food bank is not taking new applications.  I felt so bad!

So, I would like to ask that you either bring a toy or two and I will collect and put a package together for them and deliver to them that day.

Another option if you can't on Sunday the 16th, you can go to my SendOutCards site right away, purchase a gift card of the denomination of your choice, mail to me and I will deliver to them on the 16th so they can buy what they need/want for their kids.  (I can't provide their information because it is HIPAA protected).

Thanks to those of you who took the time on Sunday to come out and bring your items! The family loved the gesture. They told me that they promptly proceeded to wrap the toys without the kids even knowing about it! I will keep you posted! Thanks again for your kind gesture, you are a blessing!

I'm bringing some groceries (non-perishables) and a gift for each of the kids. I may be running a little late but hope to be there by 3:30 at the latest!

Tree, thank you for the info about your church. I will share it with them. A gift card to me is fine, I will see him during the week for his medical appointments. Thanks again!

that is a shame about the food bank but i know there are many food banks in the denver area. if they are interested, my church has a large food bank with GOOD stuff! it is the potter's house of denver at 9495 florida. you don't have to be a member or prove anything. just show up before the service at 9 or 11 (so a little before 9 or 11) and they will give you a ticket to pick up your bags of food after the service. so yes, they must wait or attend the service while they are waiting. we are a very diverse church and even have a spanish service in the afternoons. also they can get food for the number of people in their family. they just have to say how many! very easy! and they may find a spiritual family here!!!!

Lizbeth, thank you, I do have a paypal account - it's [masked]. Just to give you some feedback, it would be easier to give them sealed envelopes with a gift card from you. If you go to my SendOutCards, I will give you the card for free (I will pay for the card and postage), you just pay for the gift card. Paypal deducts fees. Either way, I appreciate and support your choice.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
