Jon,

I'm not on any waiting list for this group; once you join a group, you are in. I think you might be referring to the waiting list for a specific event re: this group, but I haven't RSVP'd to any events. In my experience with other group's events, if the event fills up and you are added to the waiting list, you are notified once somebody releases their spot and you make it off the waiting list. Hope this helps. I suggest contacting the group's organizer directly with specific questions!

I just joined, so I can't give a credible opinion yet. That said, I can say that I love the idea of the group and am looking forward to attending an event soon!
