Ethical Investing - Jake Barnett of Morgan Stanley 7/13/14

  • Jul 13, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Kathleen's House

We will watch a presentation put on by a Morgan Stanley employee - Jake Barnett - 314.889.8115. We have been appalled by the behavior of many denizens of Wall Street - can we actually do business with them and consider ourselves ethical?

From the presenter, Jake Barnett :

“Many socially and environmentally conscious people are invested in companies that do not fit their moral values. Oftentimes these individuals do not agree with how the company treats its employees, how it impacts the environment, or the company’s general role as a corporate citizen. Yet individuals remain invested in these companies because they do not see an alternative or they fear that any alternative will lead to them not making as much money as they need to with their investments.

This interactive presentation is designed to show you that there are alternatives out there, that they are increasingly important to consider in a world experiencing a rapidly changing environment, and that you personally can invest in a way that is responsible, both fiscally and morally.”
