The (Stephen R.) Best Lecture Series - Free and Open To The Public
The Rationalist Society will be hosting lectures by Dr. Richard Carrier on both Thursday, September 4th and Friday night, September 5th. Thursday nights lecture will be delivered on UMSLs campus*, and Friday night will be at Hodak's**!!
Thursday, September 4th @ 8 p.m. - a one hour lecture on 'The Importance of Having a Full-Fledged Philosophy of Atheism' (provided aviation gods serve our will and Dr. Carriers flight arrives on-time). Location : 100 Lucas Hall, UMSL campus. Capacity: 315. We will have lots of extra space! Hosted by UMSL Pastafarians.
Friday September 5th @ 8 p.m. - hour + half hr. of Q&A on 'Did Jesus Even Really Exist?' (aka 'On The Historicity of Jesus'). Location : Hodak's, 2100 Gravois, 63104.
The Skeptics In The Pub will probably have a get-together w/Dr. Carrier on Friday night, after our lecture, and we are welcome to join them if we so choose. When I have more information on that I will pass it along.
Hodak's is a well-known local restaurant specializing in fried chicken and they tend to be very busy, so parking might be some drama, but they do have two large parking lots, and there is on-street parking also. Not sure they can even spell 'vegetarian' but this is the best I could manage. Let me know soon if you want the $14.50 buffet dinner. See their website for buffet info.
