For a little contrast, I recommend George Lakoff's Moral Politics. It would be interesting to hear the professor's opinions on it.

Subject: [atheists-748] Change to March 4th meeting - Lecture "Villainy: An Analysis of the Nature of Evil."
Date: Sat, 3 Mar[masked]:54:39 -0500

So, we are starting a new holiday here. Earl has been suggesting a holiday called March Forth on March 4th for years, and 2012 is the year. The goal of this holiday is to come out of the closet a little more about being a freethinker. Maybe in future years we will come up with better March Forth suggestions, but this year we will be attending the Ayn Rand meetup's lecture. From their meetup announcement :
"We are very pleased to be sponsoring this talk, which is free and open to the public. Dr. Bernstein, a professor of philosophy at the State University of New York, in Purchase, is the author of numerous books and articles. He is an expert on Ayn Rand and her philosophy of Objectivism, as well as other topics in philosophy, literature, politics and economics. In addition to his regular teaching at SUNY, he is a popular speaker on college campuses across the country, and at national and international Objectivist Conferences. This talk is completely free and open to the public, but voluntary donations to offset expenses will be accepted. Anyone donating $30 will receive a free, personally signed, hardcover copy of Dr. Bernstein's most recent book, Capitalist Solutions: A Philosophy of American Moral Dilemmas."
