Announcing a new Meetup for Rationalist Society of Saint Louis!

What: Skepticon II - Convention in Springfield, MO

When: November 20,[masked]:00 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

From the event website :

For more information, check their facebook page.

"The Skepticon series began in October of 2008 when PZ Myers and Richard Carrier came to the Missouri State Campus to criticize religion here in the heart of the bible belt. The event enjoyed a very sizable crowd, drawing audience members from the surrounding states.
Skepticon I was free to the public, and that continues with Skepticon II. Our production team is in agreement that we will never charge admission to any events in the Skepticon series. People have a chance to listen to some of the greatest minds to ever tackle the existence of god, and that type of information should always be free ? especially in a region where churches can be so large that they have ATMs inside."

The organizers of this event have stated on their website that they have "lots of couches and sleeping bags available", so if you would like to save money, that is the way to go! Contact them through their website for more info on that. I'll be staying at a local hotel, probably the Days Inn BattleField ($76 for a room w/2 beds in it, so I can share expenses! A Non-Smoking Hotel* 3260 E. Montclair St. Springfield, MO Phone:[masked], Toll free:[masked]) or (Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven, 203 S. Glenstone Ave. Springfield, MO Phone:[masked] Toll free: (800)[masked]) Both provide basic breakfasts, but the Days Inn is the #1 rated hotel in Springfield and very modestly priced, while the Best Western is closer to campus. Please contact me by email and vote for which hotel you would prefer. If anybody would like to carpool, please also contact me, to either offer a ride or ask for one.
