Raw Food Central became a vision of founder Curtis Griffing over 30 years ago when he overcame a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis by adopting a 100% raw food diet and lifestyle. Doctors gave him no hope for a cure and promised him a future with artificial joints. "A lot of suffering was endured until I came across the truth about raw food along with a healthful lifestyle". Curtis continues to enjoy a 100% raw food diet and wouldn't have it any other way.

Curtis was mentored by some of the best, in the early years when few were "Raw" - Dr. Herbert Shelton, Dr. Robert (Bob) Gross, and Jo Willard, to name a few. In 1982 Curtis became a member, then Vice President and now President of Natural Hygiene, Inc. whose sole purpose is to disseminate health information via seminars, literature, audio, video and counseling to those interested.

During the early years many friends and family members were counseled in health. Since then hundreds have been helped with a 9 week course that Curtis teaches called HealthPath. He has been teaching this 9 week class since 2001 and it has become a mainstay to the community. Curtis and his sons Wynter and Windsor enjoy the raw food lifestyle daily in their personal lives and have no desire to venture away from it because of how great it makes them feel.

Raw Food Central finally came to fruition in 2001 with its first web site, and most recently its own store front in Windsor, CT at 446 Broad St. The Raw Food Central store front only carries Raw Food products, as well as providing lots of health information.

Nutrition and Dietary Counseling are also available. Curt and his two sons Wynter and Windsor are able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

A monthly Raw Food Potluck is offered on the second Sunday of every month at 5pm. These are 100% raw meals only! Attendance can be anywhere from 25 to 50 or more each month and the numbers keep growing! (The Meetup Attendance Stats below are not accurate because most in our group do not RSVP they just come).
