The Des Moines Raw Food Meetup Group has 60 Members!
Holy cow?The coverage our budding Meetup Group has received in The Des Moines Register has resulted in my ?in? box being jammed all week. That is a good news/bad news sort of thing, because there is just so much space at our venue (East Village Books) AND ? because the meeting is also a talk/demo - we need to keep the size of the group manageable.
Please remember, if you have RSVPed "Yes" or "Maybe" for January 7 and your plans have changed, I need you to change your RSVP on the MeetUp website. We have several members who are on a wait list to attend. What a shame it would be if they could have come but we didn?t know?.
If you have a friend who would like to be added to the wait list, I suggest that they:
? Join the group and RSVP ?No.?
? In the comment box, tell them to put a message that says ?meeting was full when I tried to RSVP ? please put me on the waiting list.?
That way we?ll know how many others are wanting to join us and I can be in touch directly if a spot opens up.
Also, please mark your calendar for our 2nd meeting on Monday, February 4 at 6:00 p.m. Location and details will be determined by your input at the January meeting.
Finally, I have heard that several of you are planning to bring a raw dish to share (that?s part of the fun, after all!). Bringing a RAW, VEGAN (no dairy, eggs, meat, etc) is not required, but I really hope we do have many brave souls who will bring something. I will be doing a demo that evening, but would really appreciate your support so we have some variety. We can all learn from each other? There are tons of raw recipes on the web, and I do know that East Village Books has ordered a number of raw recipe books just for our little group. AND, I did plan the meetings to be on Mondays, so we?d have the weekend to experiment/make our dishes!
See you all soon!
PS ? Let me also say that as THRILLED as I am about the coverage of our group in The Des Moines Register on January 4, I did not ? and never would ? advocate the eating of raw eggs!
