Evening Hike - Pawtuckaway State Park - South Mountain

Join us on an evening hike to South Mountain in Pawtuckaway State Park.  South Mountain has a great tower for viewing.  On a clear day you can see the Seacoast.

We will meet at Riverside Park on Route 27, across from the Pines Restaurant and caravan or car pool to the intersection of Reservation Road and Tower Road in the park.

The hike to the tower only takes around 45 minutes,  however, it will be a steady climb to the peak and a steep climb down.  We should have time to to enjoy the evening at the top.   We will be returning to the cars around sunset.

Please note that Reservation Road is a dirt road and there is no parking area.  Parking is along the road.   Please bring water and a snack.  Please be prepared for walking around rocks, roots and wet areas and wear appropriate footwear.  Walking poles may be helpful, as well as bug repellent.

Rain cancels this event.  Please check the website prior to leaving in case of cancellation. Please call me with any questions, at 603.682.8438.

Well, the chance of rain tomorrow night just dropped to 40% from 80% so maybe it will be just fine.

When I scheduled the walk the weather report was better. I will cancel the walk tomorrow if the weather report
does not improve. Friday doesn't look much better. We'll try again.

This will be a beautiful hike, I hiked up to the Pawtucakawy Tower from the Park Entrance last Tuesday. I never get tired of the view in all the directions from the top.

How long of a hike would this be? Would we be getting back to the cars when it's dark?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
