This is a 6 day trip to the Okefenokee Swamp and surrounding area. We will be paddling in the National Wildlife Refuge, surrounding rivers and taking a day out to Cumberland Island National Seashore.
The Okefenokee is It is the largest, intact, un-fragmented, freshwater and black water wilderness swamp in North America. Paddling in the Okefenokee is truely an unique experience, unlike any areas we have here in New England. If you enjoy being out in and watching nature on the water, this is a trip you would enjoy. Yes, there are alligators and lots of them, but they just go about their business while we paddle around.
We spend the day paddling and then have cozy accommodations at the end of the day with hot showers and wonderful meals cooked for you.
The trip is lead by a professional guide who has spent his life paddling in the rivers and swamps of the South. I have been traveling with our guide Greg for 10 years and have had many wonderful paddling experiences. You can find reviews on Trip Advisor under "Adventures in Florida Day Tours"
