Lotus Festival 2014 @ Echo Park Lake

The Lotus Festival is an event with a large number of food and craft vendors, dragon boat races, and Asian-themed music and dance shows. The last festival celebrating Asian-Pacific cultures was held three years ago, just before the lake and park closed for a two year long clean up.

Last year Echo Park Lake reopened, but the festival was called off to be able to give the newly planted lawn some time to grow. This July, however, the lake will once again host the Lotus Festival this Sat: July 12th (12pm-9pm) & Sun: 13th (12pm-8pm).

REACT and the Oriental Fusion Handcraft - Recycling Workshop (facebook) will be there to participate in the event. Please find our booth outfitted with all of the latest Reiyukai information as well as a demonstration workshop that guests can participate in, to show the many uses of recycling milk cartons!

Volunteers are always welcome and always needed, so if you're interested RSVP here and let us know when you'll be available to help out.  It's sure to be a lot of fun at the newly refinished park!

For those who were interested in becoming a member to Reiyukai, we will be accepting membership applications and payment for your immediate enrollment. (No need to wait for processing, simple forms will be present at the event)

Please visit for more details: Reiyukai Annual Membership

Note: All Annual Members can attend any Reiyukai Activity for free which includes the Oriental Fusion Handcraft - Recycling Workshop (main)  that you'll be able to sample at the event. Come check us out!

Wasn't it amazing to see the park reopened with all the beautiful lotus in the lake?! I'm so happy for all of those who came out and had a great time at the festival. We met many people who were interested in our Reiyukai Creative Recycling and we can't wait to see you soon. Feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or have friends that wish to join. See you all at the Tanabata Festival!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
