Note... We were formally the “Dish Book Club for foodies that love to read”. After our 100th meeting we decided that "foodie" is a term we felt too snooty. After all... we are only amateur kitchen cooks, more like a well-seasoned age group of ladies who have become good friends. We are a book club for women that love chatting about food. We love to read about food memoirs and a plethora of food topics. We meet once a month for brunch on Sundays.
We only approve members that are a book club fit. Someone willing to attend six or more months a year. I apologize for this, but it has been important to keep our meetings small, because smaller groups make for better conversations, finding places for reservations, and most importantly, finding enough book copies in the library for everyone. It’s unfortunate, but we always get women that join and then never or rarely come.
To sieve through new member requests, we require new members to pay upfront dues of $12 for a six month membership. Afterwards, all members pay $2 a month only when attending a meeting. These dues pay for our meetup website.
If you feel like you'd fit in our recipe book club, please join us or e-mail me if you have further questions.
