I am a member of a small critique group which meets on first and third Wednesdays in Wake Forest, 7:00 pm. The group has lost a couple members and we'd like to invite a few more to join us.
We each submit 8 - 16 pages of fiction or memoir once per month, rotating first or third Wednesday. Everybody reads the work before getting together then we discuss good / bad / curious / what caught us / what bothered us / etc. Meetings usually last 60 - 90 minutes. I can tell you without hesitation that my writing has improved significantly through this group.
We meet at Drew Bridges' store, The Storyteller's Bookstore in downtown Wake Forest. Drew started the group a couple years ago.
Join us! We look forward to promoting all of your announcements regarding the literary world: to include your book club meetings, critique groups, open mics, literary meetings, expos, publishing conferences, seminars/workshops and any and all events to do with reading, writing and publishing. We welcome writers and book lovers at all levels and all experiences. Our goal is to be a base from which you can promote your writing and reading activities. We want to be the place where all literary roads meet in Raleigh!
