Used Book Sale!

I went to this sale last year and it was fantastic!!! It is at the Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, near Lakeforest Mall.

Not really a meet up for the group, but I thought you might like to take advantage of this sale. I walked away with my arms loaded mostly due to large selection and super cheap prices!! Here is the blurb from their calendar:

The first day of the used book sale of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Gaithersburg Branch will be open exclusively to residents of Asbury Methodist Village.
Conveniently located in the Rosborough Center Community Rooms from Wednesday, May 9 to Saturday, May 12, this annual event is presented in cooperation with Asbury Methodist Village.

Over 20,000 books ranging from classics to nature, science fiction to Jewish interest, art to business, as well as CDs and DVDs will be available. The collection, including biography; books for children and youth under 15; fiction; and history, is truly exceptional. There will be something for everyone and most books are priced at $3 or less.
The sale will be open May 9, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; May 10 and 11, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.; May 12, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. On Saturday, May 12, books are sold at $10 for a bagful.
Mark your calendar now for the bargain event of the year! Proceeds of the sale support AAUW’s work in providing scholarships for women as well as mentoring and advocacy for women and girls. For further information, please call (301) 840-1258.

Bought nearly every script they had left! Plus I found a huge coffee table style book with gorgeous renaissance art plates. In college I had had the softcover version of it, but it had fallen apart after too many browsings.

I went this afternoon and there was a great selection. I walked out with my arms full, for $19. They do only accept cash and checks, no credit cards.

Kate, I was there too, early evening and got a bagful of books. Still looking for the McCall's cookbook, though. No one gets rid of them.

Just a reminder about the used book fair in Gaithersburg later this week. It's a good one! I know many of you have navigated over to e-readers, but c'mon...books...cheap...how can you say no?? This isn't a group activity...just go...have fun...and be thinking of possible new genres while you're there!!!

If I recall, they prefer cash and only accept credit over a certain amount. So if book sales are a weak spot for you, best thing is to bring cash!!
