I'm now retired after a career in using data to improve hospital outcomes. I once majored in chemistry and zoology at UCLA, but eventually ended up getting an MS in Biostatistics from the School of Public Health. I live in Santa Monica.
I'm afraid I know next to nothing about physics, but I was drawn to the Epigenetics event because I just heard Dr. Eric Topol at a Caltech Skeptic Society event and was reminded me of how much I miss science.
Since I arrived late, I never met any of the group and had no clue how to find them since the event turned out to be a major lecture with several hundred people in attendance. The reception was great, and I did meet another woman who was very familiar with the Nano Institute and took me upstairs to see an art exhibit. I'd never have known about this event if it hadn't been for the Meetup Group, so am happy about that.
