Small groups will get together to read aloud to one another and appreciate the written and spoken word (and simply have a good time). Each person brings a short selection (fiction, poetry, nonfiction, whatever). Folks also bring drink and nibbles to share. Fancy or not. Meetings will vary; formats will evolve. My small kitchen will be the setting for some events; perhaps others will volunteer their kitchens as well. We may also decide to have thematic events, such as reading appropriate selections outside near the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park (Virginia Woolf's classic short story "Kew Gardens" comes to mind). I can see having a wonderful Xmas/your-winter-holiday-of-choice event too, with hot mulled wine, a little Dickens, etcetera.
