Parrillada completa is a bovine anatomy lesson on a tray - skirt steak, short rib, sweetbread, kidney, black sausage, Argentine sausage and small intestine. Don’t ruminate on the function of the organs and just chew. The hemispheres of kidney were earthy, while the slices of tender sweetbread were crisp on the outside. The squiggles of small intestine were soft and chewy, but the standout was the skirt steak cut from the cow’s belly. The beefy aroma that reached the table first was a reminder that we eat with the mouth and the nose – just don’t try jamming anything up your nostrils. There was an awful lot of offal, but the only heart was heart of palm. The artichoke-y white cylinders were covered with golf sauce aka ketchup & mayo. Criolla’s name and menu pay tribute to the diversity of South America, but, for authenticity, choose fries and salad as sides. Invite 3 friends to Ugly Betty’s neighborhood for a meat feast because “para 2 personas” should say “para 4 personas”.

Disregard Google Maps. However, I edited the map on the Meetup description, so it is now correct. La Esquina Criolla is on Corona Avenue, near Junction Blvd, so the walk from the 7 train Junction Blvd station is an easy walk down Junction Blvd. My instructions regarding closest subway stations and the walk remain correct. For more details or bus alternatives, see .

Thank you. Someone missed a meetup I organized yesterday because the google map for the location was wrong, and I had an issue with a google map myself in Astoria recently. Prevention is better than cure....

It looks as though this restaurant is closest to the Grand Ave / Newtown stop on the R or M lines, and nearly a mile from any of four stops on the #7. But google maps have been quite iffy on Queens locations lately. Is the map wrong?
