RES seeks to become a coalition of average people who seek to build solutions to secure energy independence for the individual and the family.
The group is not for profit. The intent is to create synergy for effective building of devices which output usable energy, such that these devices are cost-effective for middle and lower class Americans. Projects done through the group will be open source (and licensed to stay open source), but not restricted from commercialization. The group will be open to address all energy-related technology, either accepted by the mainstream or otherwise.
Small donations will be collected at each meeting (a couple dollars or some loose change) to pay for the meetup group (hosting a meetup.com group is not free), and any extra income will be used for group projects, or to fund public presentations to increase general awareness, or other activities if chosen by the group.
