Join us on this new sailboat race that promises to be San Diego’s favorite annual sailing event. Its the Newport to San Diego Border Run race. We will race the Long Course which will start at Newport Beach, Ca and sail to the Coronado Islands, leaving the small island (Coronado norte) to port and finish just to port of the SD channel buoy # 8(label “r”8 Fl R 2.5S at 33d39’55”N by 117d13’36”W) and starboard of the committee boat stationed approx. 50 to 75 yards east of the buoy # 8 and west of the Zuniga Jetty (32d40’00”N and 117d13’23”W). Handicap distance 90 MN. There will be a mega party after the race at the Kona Kai resort in Shelter Island. There are more than 100 sailboats regitered; it'll be lots of fun. Remember that this will be a 3 day event leaving from San Diego to Newport early on Friday morning. The race start on Saturday and finishes on Sunday. I need 5 good and brave sailors who will have to spend some good amount of time behind the helm holding steady courses and performing night watches. No vacationers Our team will try not just to have fun but to win the trophy. If interested RSVP and call me at (619)[masked]

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
