Indoor Rock Climbing (Wolverhampton)

I thought it would be good to do a Rock climbing event as it was always something I enjoyed doing at uni but haven't really done for years. As I'm rusty and I'm sure there will be people who have never done it before but would like to start, I thought the best thing to do was book a group instructed induction session to start us off.

Loose fitting clothing should be worn such as shorts and t-shirts etc. Climbing in jeans is NOT recommended :).

What you get for the standard £20 induction.

- One years membership (normally £6)

-All kit hire. Except climbing shoes which is £3 extra but not necessarily needed as trainers will be fine for beginner walls (which have decent sized holds).

-One hour of taught induction which covers all the basics (e.g. tieing in with the correct knot, learning how to belay and general basic climbing tips)

-After the first hour and the instructors deem you are safe to do so, we can carry on climbing in pairs taking turns belaying and climbing or you can do boldering in the matted area which doesn't require belaying. The choice is up to you.

I suggested the end time of 9:00 pm as after two hours of climbing most including myself will be pretty tired. At 9:00 I'll act as a shuttle to the train station for people catching a train anyone who wants to stay and climb longer would be free to do so.

Really enjoyable. Great facilities, very helpful and informative staff, great for starting people off who have always wanted to try out rock climbing with a friendly group of people :)

Ive got them to keep us two instructors now so we should be fine to have up to 10 people as a maximum. Please by Tuesday the 13th (one week before the event) can everyone please confirm they are still coming so that I can inform the climbing centre if will only need 1 instructor again. Based on the number of people ive talked to that might want to come now as well as the 7 already down to come we will likely definitely need the two instructors :). Sorry for all the messages just trying to keep you all informed cheers

ive talked with everyone except aiyyas and sonya. Are you two still coming? I only ask cos it could be the difference of needing 1 or 2 instructors. If you can reply back as soon as you can that will be really helpful cheers

Simon are you doing the induction or just proving you are a competent climber I remember you saying something about you might do that? if you are it will be between £9 and £19 pound depending whether you have your own kit and whether you are doing the £2 day membership or the £6 year membership??? Let us know if you are doing that and I will increase the maximum rsvps for this event cheers
