Hi everybody, I'm so sorry to cancel at the last minute-- I had the snacks ready and everything! I'm pretty sick this morning; I kept thinking I would feel better by now but unfortunately I need to stay home. :(
No worries! We have other snacks, but mostly we hope you feel better soon!
Hi everyone! So, I unwittingly booked a trip for this weekend (it was really the only time my girls & I could go with everything else going on this summer)...so if there are no objections, Matt will be leading this meeting instead of me. If there is a volunteer who wanted to bring some simple snack food items please leave a comment here & that would be very helpful. I look forward to seeing those of you who come to the August meeting & wish you all the best during July :)

Have fun on your trip! Is the meeting still in the same place?I'd like to bring some tortilla chips and salsa, and peanut-butter cookies. Everything I bring will be gluten-free, for those of us who have wheat problems. :)
Janise - thank you so much! Yes, the location is the same. Bobbie has opened up the lower levels of her house for our meetings, and a lot of other non-profits as well - and it's central to L.A., so that's where we are at for now :) I'm hoping to splinter into some more groups within the next 6 months of so to reach a broader area...

Looking for support and advice with recovery.
Absolutely! This is a support group for people as needed. We have had a steady flux of attendees, and we are here whenever people feel the need to come. We are a support group - so people can vent, find others with similar experiences, and all help each other to move forward. We usually have some light food since it's so close to lunchtime (we often end up in discussions that are hard to break off to go eat.) I hope you can join us!

I was wrong when I said that 30% of American have no religious affiliation. A third of adults under 30 have no religious affiliation. It is 1/5 or 17.8% of American adults who have no religious affiliation according to Pew, people who answer “none” when asked to identify their religion.
This group of 17.8% of Americans:-comprises atheists and agnostics as well as those who ally themselves with "nothing in particular"-includes many who say they are spiritual or religious in some way and pray every day-overwhelmingly says they are NOT looking to find an organized religion that would be right for them-is socially liberal, with three-quarters favoring same-sex marriage and legal abortion
See http://www.pewforum.org/Unaffiliated/nones-on-the-rise.aspx and http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/01/14/169164840/losing-our-religion-the-growth-of-the-nones
Next: Invite friends
I am closing this group due to changes within the main organization. I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience.
