An extremely heart-wrenching de-conversion story of a former fundamentalist Christian. He goes through his personal journals and tells his story of being a shy youth group musician to becoming depressed, traumatized, and self-conscious. Like an addiction, he continuously punished himself, left the faith, and returned again over the course of four years.

After realizing the corporate nature of the groups and music, he struggled with his own perceived relationship with Jesus and the ethical choice to continue to be a youth minister: "I just spent a year leading kids in what I didn't believe." Isolation and acting out for attention followed.

It's a powerful story about how taboo and self-censorship can lead to self-destruction.

Please share this with others, especially those you feel are on the edge and in a bad place.
