We'll put in at the Des Moines Marina and travel north for an hour or so, maybe stop on the beach if there's a spot, then turn around.
You know how long it takes you to load/unload your boat/gear. Please arrive early enough to have your boat unloaded and be ready to go at 3:45. We want to be in the water by 4pm so we can take advantage of the return current. Lo tide is around 2pm. Max flood is about 6pm.
There are restrooms available. If you arrive early and see someone else, please give assistance loading/unloading...even if they're not with this group...we all appreciate it. : )
Please post a picture so we can recognize each other easily.
Note: We will be there for each other, but you are responsible for your own safety. You should know self rescue and assisted rescue techniques. Wetsuits are always recommended on cold water. We'll be in a group (all for one and one for all) and staying close to the shore for this paddle. Wearing a PFD is required. A paddle float and bilge pump are recommended. You might also want water, sunglasses/sunscreen, a snack, camera, a change of clothes. You never know when you might get wet!
