Aber Days is a summer festival in a small town in Richland County about 30 miles south of Fargo. The Fort Abercrombie State Park, the site of an historic 19th century frontier fort, is the eastern terminus of the North Country National Scenic Trail in North Dakota. An urban section of the NCNST runs through Abercrombie. Join the Dakota Prairie Chapter of the North Country Trail Association in participating in some of the Aber Days events.
The Aber Days activities include a parade, variety show and basketball tournament, pancake breakfast, 5K run/walk, flea market/craft show, tractor pull, beer garden, and a street dance with Blues Tonic. For more information about Aber Days, contact the Abercrombie Community Club at[masked]-8936.
The Aber Days parade will be held at 1:00 p.m. The NCTA Dakota Prairie Chapter will have their tool trailer in the parade to help publicize the North Country Trail, and some Chapter members plan to walk along. If you have ever wanted to be in a parade, here's your chance. The Chapter will also have an information display at Museum Park during the flea market /craft show.
At 3:00 p.m., the NCTA Dakota Prairie Chapter will host a walk on the North Country Trail through town, starting at and returning to Fort Abercrombie, an easy round trip distance of about 3 miles. A stop at the beer garden is optional...
