I live in Detroit Lakes, MN with my wife and four young kids. We really like to do stuff outdoors as a family. There are some pretty scenic areas in the Red River Valley if you look hard enough!
Hiking, biking, canoeing, nature study & photography (as long as things aren't moving I can take their picture), etc.
Fun group...let's do some more fun stuff outdoors!
Thanks Matthew. I am very pumped for this. I have been meaning to add the outdoors (outside the city) back into my life and this will be perfect.
Thanks for the greeting and I will check out that site!
Thanks for the welcome. Ed and I are looking forward to many enjoyable hikes and meeting folks who enjoy hiking and just being in the outdoors as we do.
Thanks Matthew, somehow something has been coming up every Saturday so I have been unable to get out but I will get out there.
Glad to be along, Matt! Will look forward to hearing what's going on.
I'm studying social studies education at NDSU. Helping out on a new trail segment would be awesome, although I won't be available on March 30th as dates come up for work on it I am more than willing to come help out. Having a major trail like the NCT so close to Fargo has been awesome, so I'm looking forward to seeing it expand as much as possible.
Too bad. Well, thanks for letting me know.
Thank you for having us! I haven't ever been to the NCT in Michigan, I'd just heard of it when I read about the Meet-up group online, but will definitely check it out when I'm back in state. I know the USFWS is really working to find ways to help people connect to the outdoors, and this is a great one!
Hey Matthew, I crossed several portions of the NCT throughout the area but havent really gone too far. the extent of my hiking was one backpacking trip on the kek Trail from Ely to the Gunflint in the 90's. I think it would be fun to try more and learn from others and their experience. Hopefully one of your trips will work out with my calendar.
