Last month, Miles drove a Dodge Neon Biodiesel Electric 10 miles to his place from Calera. After that, it quit. Join us as we look under the hood of this faulty proof of concept car. To learn a little about its design and where it went wrong.
A group of engineers at a stock car company in Indiana got together with some engineers at motorcycle company to see if they could make a conversion sedan diesel hybrid for under 30,000. They did, and road it around as a show car for a couple of years then donated it to a Highschool science department in Calera, AL, where it sat on blocks for 2 years. Miles has taken on the project of rewiring it but there may be a wire crossed somewhere. Last week we got the electric motor running and traced the wires. This week we'll look at what progress miles has made since then and go from there.
