Thanks to some recent materials acquisitions, space is getting a bit messy. The purpose of this work party is to to tidy up the space, do some labeling and put away newly acquired materials in preparation for a visit from representatives of Birmingham's Ed Foundation.

I did a little cable mgmt in our office/network room on my way home this AM, though a more detailed job (cable ties, zip-ties, dbl sised tape, screws, etc...) is in order. It's okay for now.

It looks _much_ better. Thanks for stopping to do that work. :)

Thanks, William, Trae, Kurt, Shawn, Russell (Tigger), John and Madison, for cleaning up the space. Thanks especially, to Madison, who did an _awesome_ job in the kitchen, and to Russell, who did a great job in the washrooms. Those two tasks are the ones that most people don't want to do. :)

The resulting organization will help the group going forward. We presented well this afternoon. The Ed Foundation group (10!) who visited were excited by what we're up to here in the space.

We're also going to need one laptop available to add items to the equipment inventory list.

If you have any of the following lurking in storage lockers, attics, basements and are willing to donate it, we'd be grateful. We're now maintaining a spreadsheet for charitable donation receipts, which will be issued at the end of 2014:

Sheet mirror glass (or hangable mirrors in frames) for the two bathrooms
    Track shelving track
    8", 12" & 15" track brackets
8", 12" & 15" wood boards/shelves/plain slab closet doors (for use as shelving)
    Office supplies:
    Tape holders
#10 envelopes (old printed from defunct companies OK!)
    Postit notes
    Small boxes and stationary containers
FIle folder labels (we have lots of file folders)
    File cards
    Pen/pencil caddies/cans
    Tape! (regular, masking and duct)
A stacking form rack of some sort that can be hung on the wall
In/Out boxes for paper handling and work flow
    Bulletin boards
    Latex/latex-free cleaning gloves.

    Hey all,

There are a few things that we need which would help with the clean-up tonight.

If anyone has an Expedit 8-cube storage unit (or two) in storage, or a similar low horizontal shelving/storage unit, would it be possible to use them down at the space for the next few months?

The purpose would be to store project incidental bins for current and future working groups in the front room, while keeping the big white wall usable as a projection screen. Having project incidental bins will also ensure that the big working tables stay clear for _your_ next project.

We also need the following for tonight's clean:

More windex or vinegar (front window clean)
    B&W newspapers
    Scouring pads
Additional cleaning supply kits/caddies so that we can have more than one crew working (there's a fair amount that needs wiping down and dust removal)
A carpet vacuum cleaner for the studio areas that still have carpet.

Will also need a volunteer with a truck who can take some of the accumulated disassembled towers off to one of the metals recycling companies during regular business hours.

Um, changing that plan. The towers stay for now. :)
