Hump Day Hurrah Hikes - Davis Gulch Trail

We will be exploring nearby hiking trails on Wednesday evenings. In order to avoid the heat, we will plan to meet at 6pm and hike until 8-8:30pm, depending on length and location of hike.

For 5/16 hike, we will hike the Davis Gulch Trail at Whiskeytown. This hike is and out and back trail, with the turnaround at Brandy Creek. The carpool location is at Tops Market on Eureka Way. Park on north side (facing 299/Eureka Way). We will leave at 6pm. Estimated departure from the Davis Gulch Trailhead (off of Brandy Creek Road) is 6:15. Click here for map and trail information.

Difficulty Level: Moderate

Length: 3.3 miles one way

Elevation: 1,240-1,414 feet

Please be ready to leave from carpool promptly at 6pm or from trailhead at the designated time.

* The trip organizer is a volunteer and NOT a real leader (i.e. not liable for the group). Think of it as hiking with a group of friends.
* Joining any hike is entirely voluntary and participants assume any and all risks associated with the activities. It is each hiker's responsibility to ensure that s/he is in sufficient fitness and health to participate in a strenuous hike, with the appropriate water, food, clothing, first aid, and navigation equipment for the conditions.

Ok, that was a little CRAZY! Note to self, turn around by 7:30! This is a tough trail to hike in the dark with a 40lb pack. Thanks fellow adventurers for making it another memory, plus just what I needed - a good workout, fresh air, companionship . . .

I'd like to do the one-way. So, could I grab a ride with you Jennifer? meet at Tops at 5:45 so we could drop a car at the Brandy Creek end? ...and ride backwith Susan? Be happy to share gas.
