Welcome to another edition of Redmond Roaring Writers, our bi-weekly meeting at Redmond Panera.

Panera has free Wi-Fi.

Panera does request that groups order at least something. They have a decent selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads. Consider arriving a little early if you plan to eat, it may also be a good time to meet your fellow writers! We usually chat until ~7 and then work on critique.

Please consider bringing some writing to share, even if it's your first time. We keep our feedback constructive and supportive.
Since we critique work during the meeting, keep your submission relatively short.
I suggest limiting your piece to under 1500 words/six double-spaced pages.
I also suggest double-space (so people can write comments).
Check the "Yes" count before you depart to make sure you have enough copies. (If we have more than 7 people we split into 2 groups so you'll never need more than 7 copies).

Things are a bit iffy for me on Wed. I broke my finger, had surgery and now my right hand/wrist is in a cast. I'm able to type, but it's pretty limited. If the last three spots are taken, I'll pass so someone more certain can attend. But if not, I'll let you know Tues if it looks like I'll have a chapter ready for review. I've been editing, so I'm not idle, but whole chapters are harder.

I tried but it's too frustrating typing with my left hand and one index finger. I get a smaller cast/splint thing a week from Friday, so I should make it to the Oct 2nd meetup.

Alas, I cannot join you for this installment. I'll be at a concert for one of my favorite musicians - Neko Case. Yeah! By the way, I posted a couple of questions on the Discussion Board and I'm not sure how it works. Do I have to tell you its there (like I'm doing now), or do you have to sign up to get updates when something is posted there? Thanks! Melanie

People can opt-in to the message boards by going to profile and choosing email and notifications. Usually you'll get email once a day when people post.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
