Thriller Dance Classes

Hi fellow Zombies,

Learn the Thriller Dance

Classes to learn the Thriller dance are taught at the City of Redmond, Parks and Recreation Dance Instructor Teresa Osborn of Redmond Zombies. Classes are held at the Redmond Senior Center on Saturday mornings beginning September 21 from 10am to noon. October 19th New or Beginner Zombies at 10:00am - Experienced Zombies at 12:30pm, no beginners please at the 12:30pm class. You'll be well prepared for the greatest 'Eastside' Zombie Party ever- the 2013 'Thrill the World' Block Party on October 26th in Redmond Town Center.

The fee is $5 per class for advance registration, call[masked], OR $7 at the door. Advance registration is strongly suggested - space is limited to 200. Wear sneakers or other comfortable shoes and bring water.

Students must be at least 8 years of age to participate and 8-12 years need to have an older sibling or adult present even if they do not take the class.

Remember to check www.redmondzombies.com for updated details as the event gets closer.

We are splitting the last weeks class into 2 separate classes on October 19th.

10:00am until 11:30am for New Zombies/Beginners

12:30pm -1:30pm for Experienced Zombies

This 12:30pm class is for those who have learned the Thriller dance before so we can just dance through and critique our moves. You need to have joined in at least one Thrill the World Event. No beginners please as there will be no breakdown of the moves.

In the Recreation guide so far they are only showing two classes until they publish the fall classes but they are there and happening! You can sign up in advance for one class for $5:00 or drop in on the day for $7.00 dollars.

We highly recommend you sign up in advance as it is first come first served. When we are up to the limit the Redmond Senior Center cannot accept anymore people as it would break safety regulations.

The Thriller Dance Class fees are separate from the Day of Thrill the World Event and you can go to www.redmondzombies.com for more information. The Website is currently being updated.

As this will be our 5th year we would like to have a goal of 500 dancers and raise $[masked] dollars.

Thank you for your dedication you are awesome zombies.

Here is Thrilling Redmond Town Center again this year and having a lot of Zombie fun!

Rock on

Teresa

    Hi Deby,

There is only a 12:30pm class on the last week October 19th as by then the numbers have usually grown and I really do not want to turn anyone away. Last year we hit 200 in the last class and that's the limit for fire & safety reasons. If you have in fact signed up for the class at 10>00am on the 19th you can call them and switch. [masked] 2314. I am sure it will not be a problem. Looking forward to seeing you soon

I signed up for the 10:00 to 12:00 class on Saturday, but I've done the dance with you before. How do I switch my sign-up to the 12:30 to 2:00 session? I didn't see it on the list. ..

We are having a Dress Rehearsal on the Thursday evening instead from 7:00pm until 8:00pm to dance and the last 30 minutes will be make & costume tips, preregistration, last chance to buy tee-shirts which will be available soon and finally instructions for the day of our Thrill the World Redmond Event.
Hope that helps. I took down the master class-where did you see it?

On a separate note, the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank is having a walk/run on 10/26 at 10am in Everett. Would anyone be interested in "practicing at the event"?

Hi, would I be able to dance with the Redmond Zombies at The Thrill the World event, if I do not practice with you? I know the dance and practice with a friend. I usually dance with the Seattle Thrillers.
    Thanks, Leanne

Hi! Please clarify. I have not taken Thriller dance classes before. Do I sign up for the 10:00 - 12:00 Saturday classes or the 12:30 - 2:00 classes? Thanks!

Gayle -- sign up for the 10-12 sessions. The last Saturday session as 1230 is for those that have danced with us in past years and will be a faster paced session. We have to split them apart because of the large number of people we have attend the last class. Looking forward to seeing you there!
