Sunday May 5th Cinco de Mayo Surf up at Rat Beach Near Torrance Beach

Hi RBO Surfers,

It’s time to bring your boards out and have some fun.  It looks like most of us have surf once or twice but still feel like a beginner. This weekend let’s try Rat Beach our meet up location will be at the Gazebo seen on this photo of Google Maps. https://maps.google.com/?ll=33.802263,-118.396504&spn=0.00107,0.002642&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=33.802239,-118.396382&panoid=5EFysf1D6ngqjPSfCVH8PA&cbp=12,17.63,,0,10.32 for those who show up late look for very first life guard tower from the end of trail.

Both the Gazebo & 1st Life Guard Tower are easy to find.

Waves break softer and the size usually smaller at RAT in compare to any beaches in South Bay so for the beginners and long boarders who are not good at fast and steep waves, RAT might be better although it could be too weak for short boarders (still ridable though). For those a bit more advanced maybe we can create a second group down the road that can meet up in Torrance Beach just a few hundred yards down from Rat Beach.

I would love to be able to try surfing with others that are at my level (beginner) or some version there of. I plan on borrowing my son's wetsuit and board for starters and hope that I will love the sport as much as I think I will.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
