Half A Canoe Loop Hike at Lake Sonoma

This classic Lake Sonoma hike starts high on a ridge, drops to lake level and climbs back up to the start, giving views of the lake, surrounding hills, and a sampling of the mixed oak woodlands and grassy slopes. It may be hot, so two liters of water is recommended, along with lunch, good hiking boots, sunscreen and hat. Dress in layers for the weather. Ticks may still be present. This is a moderately strenuous hike with approx. 1100 ft. total elevation gain. Class M-5-B. Carpools: Meet 9am in front of Coddingtown Library Santa Rosa or meet 10:15am No Name Flat trailhead on Rockpile Rd. Leader Carl Inglin[masked] or [masked]. Rain cancels.

This was an enjoyable hike with good views in a lovely area..Carl was very helpful and both he and Laurie made me feel very welcome. I felt that I had a good Hike without it being too demanding.

Looks like we have a carload at this point. I can drive. Look for my silver Subaru Forester in front of the Coddingtown library.

This is a great hike! I probably won't make it unless I get all my chores done on Saturday

The forecast for Cloverdale for Sunday is partly cloudy with a high of 70. (I expect that's an underestimate). Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. This will not be a fast hike. My knees won't allow it.

I might end up missing this one. A chance to go sailing popped up for that day, but I will stay on the list for this hike in case the sailing falls through.
Carl is a great organizer, so I'm certain you all will enjoy this.

I am staying with my sister in Petaluma for 2 weeks and would really like to join the Half a Canoe Loop. Being English I am not used to driving on the right hand side of the road so it would be great to car pool from Santa Rosa. Do you think that will be possible

We have a carpool meeting at the Coddingtown Library in Santa Rosa. Do you need a way to get to Santa Rosa?
