This classic Lake Sonoma hike starts high on a ridge, drops to lake level and climbs back up to the start, giving views of the lake, surrounding hills, and a sampling of the mixed oak woodlands and grassy slopes. It may be hot, so two liters of water is recommended, along with lunch, good hiking boots, sunscreen and hat. Dress in layers for the weather. Ticks may still be present. This is a moderately strenuous hike with approx. 1100 ft. total elevation gain. Class M-5-B.
