I'm a big fan of both WP and ExpressionEngine. Any CMS has a learning curve. These both have great support and great admin panels.

Depends on what you're comfortable with code-wise and what you're looking to accomplish.

As a front-end developer, I prefer Wordpress due to the amount of flexibility and customization it offers from a code perspective.

I've also seen Drupal do some pretty awesome things with custom modules and definitely prefer its shopping cart.  However, I feel it's rather inflexible from a front-end code standpoint as it generates a lot of code for you.

That's all. Take it with a grain of salt

I am looking for the best technology platform for a web-based startup and would be interested in the pros/cons of Drupal vs. Joomla vs. Wordpress.
