Refresh Chicago Community Update

Shay H.
Chicago, IL
Hello all,

We wanted to send out a few quick updates for things happening around the community before heading into the holiday season.

For starters Refresh will not be meeting in November due to Thanksgiving, however we are in the process of planning a holiday party for December. In January we have Sharlene King coming in to present on InDesign and Websites: A Compendium of Reasons it Works, which is sure to be good.

A few other events coming soon include...

The Starter League Fall Quarter Application Deadline
Sunday, December 2nd

Over 389 starters have come from all over the world to learn how to code, design, and ship web apps.

You've bought books, done online tutorials, maybe even attended a paid two or three-day workshop, but it's not enough. When you are new to web design and development, it can be difficult to make your ideas real without proper structure and support. We created The Starter League to solve this problem. By providing expert instruction, mentorship, and community support, you'll learn more in 3 months than most do in a year by attending The Starter League.

Technori Starter Series: Beyond the Ping Pong Table
Thursday, December 6th

Refresh members can save $25 with the discount code "Startup".

When building and maintaining a successful business, it's critical to create employee engagement, empowerment, and high morale. Your team is your best asset, getting things done and creating raving fans in the community. Sure, having a ping-pong table, white-board walls, and a game system are fun; but including a smart office design with a clear set of values and norms that actively guide the way a company operates, can create and build a strong, flourishing company culture.

Thanks everyone!
