High Weald Woodland and Rocks
Date: Saturday 26th April 2014
Times: Starting at 10:15am at Eridge Station and finishing around 5pm
Length: 8.5 mile / 13.6 km circular walk
A walk in the medieval landscape of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our route will takes us across open fields, through broadleaf and conifer woodland and beneath the substantial sandstone outcrop of Eridge Rocks.
Some small hills but no large ascents or descents. We will stop for lunch in a great country pub. We’ll place food orders when we meet but if you prefer, bring a packed lunch.
We will be walking whatever the weather.
Toilets: There are limited toilets at Eridge station, if coming by train please make use of toilets on the train please.
Level of fitness: General – easy. The pace will be varied with several stops.
You will need:
• Walking boots, there will be some muddy areas.
• Money for lunch/refreshments
• Waterproof jacket
• You may wish to bring a camera
£6.00 - We recommend payment in advance via paypal but if you are a regular walker with the group, please contact us about paying on the day in cash.
From London we recommend catching the 09:08 direct train from London Bridge arriving at Eridge at 10:03am. Please post a message to meet at London Bridge if you would like to form a group of 4 to organise your own group saver. Group Saver tickets, for four people travelling together and offering up to 50% off travel are available for this journey.
