Needs a date
Needs a location
Our mannequin friends will taking a tour of Houston as our models. Our mannequins will be walking in stores, on top of buildings, in elevators, etc. Hopefully I get my hands on a male & female mannequin (Fred & Betty) Everyone attending must bring some sort of prop.
It is a shame this won't happen. Real models is like any other meetup, nothing special. Mannequin is different, unique and requires more creative talent.

If we wanted to do the classic shoot, first we need a good location where we have permission to shoot - preferably with the owner/renter there. As Fidel said, it'd be hard to make it be different than every other "strobist" shoot - in my opinion with or without real models. This option would require many resources: location, models/mannequins, lighting, right time of day, etc.
The other option (one I prefer) is to stick with the original idea of having mannequins and be renegades and go around town. If we can find a few, I think that's half the battle and we can just hit the town with it.
While I was in Dallas last month, I saw something similar to what we could do, but this was an art exhibit http://www.flickr.com/photos/co...

I will use to practice new lighting, and see if it works, before I tried in a model.

Any body interested in getting this meeting to finally happen? As mentioned earler- I have 2 (partial) female mannequins - front only from neck to upper thighs w/ hanger at top- flat black color- They can be dressed and hung
( 2 styrofoam heads could be easily added too if we can find em)
I also have a hi quality 7 ft tall Harlem Globetrotter cardboard cutout- very realistic looking that would be a cool prop. Anybody else have anything cool for props- I can bring some musical instruments too. There is a lot of Highway construction right near me on 610 at 290- We could prob use some areas that are closed to traffic - with or without the workers around. Depends on what others think ( or I may just grab a partner and give it a shot to show 5-10 photos as a kind of DEMO.)

Yes Steve - All systems go. We had a nice little meetup on Sunday in Old Town Spring. Have not posted pics yet. Not sure of the fate of the mannequin Madness shoot- Last I heard we may revive it- but the plan is to have all details straight before we post the meetup. Think I got it right- If you have any questions or ideas- shoot Mark Richter an email. That part- I know is right.
