Semi-retired JPL engineering tech/'SuperTech', non-degreed EE, love ham radio and kitbuilding, wood-butchery, multi-purpose furniture. Physics buff; always wanted to find a way to 'cheat' gravity to get off this planet...
Unbuild-to-components, rebuild, troubleshooting an Elecraft K2 15W SSB HF transceiver; still has odd bias on the 8T line that I'm chasing. Taking too long, but the task queue becomes a push-down stack when the Grand Pooh-Bah brings me a Project.
Such a wonderful idea, locals helping locals! I'm hooked! Made a checklist of things I'll need to bring for the next time, since my toolkit was kinda thin for repairs that were needed. (HensTeeth Oct.) Armory Feb: arrived late, parked in Marriott's $Garage, wished I could have had more time there; wanted to attend the orientation, but got busy immediately (which is fine!) Maybe a separate session soon? Still fine-tuning toolkit, need to dump (to grist drawer)/replace old tinfoil (bent!) drill bits from that estate sale, and already put clothespins in the box! M.Park 3May14; Suspect Scoops will get a real sinewave inverter sooner. Some motors just don't like those steps up+down.
