October 19, 2012-- NYC Votes! announces the release of its online Voter Guide to New York City candidates for the General Election on Tuesday, November 6. The Voter Guide lists all federal, state and local candidates appearing on the ballot and provides links to candidates’ websites and social media accounts when available. The Voter Guide also contains profiles for candidates running in the special election for City Council in District 12 (Bronx) on November 6. Polls will be open on Election Day from 6 AM to 9 PM. The guide provides links to the poll site locator maintained by the New York City Board of Elections, where voters can find their polling place and view a sample ballot, as well as a tool that lets voters check their registration status. To receive election reminders via email, voters should sign the NYC Votes! “Pledge to Vote.”NYC Votes! is the non-partisan voter engagement campaign of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC). In addition to promoting voter registration, participation, and civic engagement in New York City through its many programs and partnerships, NYC Votes! sponsors the city’s official Debate Program and produces the citywide Voter Guide.
