If you are interested in learning how to thrive instead strive then this group is for you.  It will be taught by Kurt Valle RN and Dr. Ed Rubenstein.  Ed has a counseling practice in Asheville, NC but he will be guiding the group online.  Dr. Ed will also host weekend workshops in person to share more extensive experiential training which presently consists of four levels, each level is an eight hour workshop.

Here is Dr Ed's background so you can see his impressive bio:

Dr. Ed Rubenstein received his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Florida State University, and holds a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from Florida State University, a Masters in Psychology from Radford University and a Masters in Spiritual Studies from Goddard College.

Ed lived and studied in Nepal and India for nearly 3 years and is a licensed psychologist who has been in the forefront of the human potential field for over 30 years.  Over the course of his career, he has worked with a multiplicity of client populations and has conducted workshops and trainings for federal, state, city, and county agencies as well as University, hospital, non-profit, corporate and community settings.

Ed’s focus within psychology is on a heart-based approach and its impact on the psychological and relational wellbeing of his diverse clientele. His transformative approach to psychology demonstrates a natural way for developing resiliency, emotional management and for building positive relationships.

Facilitating both professional and corporate workshops internationally, Ed shares his insights and in-depth knowledge about living a heart-centered life, supported by tools and approaches that contribute to a deeper experience of personal fulfillment.

Work is such a crucial aspect of our life, and yet we often struggle with—and feel emotionally overwhelmed by the numerous challenges it presents us. Learning how to manage your emotions and instantly shift into positivity on command is a must for a healthy and meaningful life. As a society in general we have a problem with  professional burnout and compassion fatigue.  We will teach you how to be more resilient and how to cope with a stressful work environment and your personal life as well.  It all starts with the heart.  You first have to understand the Psychology of the Heart and about the limitations of a overly dominant brain. When  brain and heart are in sych we naturally experience true heart feeling while we are calmer, more productive, happier and more grateful. We learn to become guided by our hearts innate wisdom.

Much of the cells in the heart are comprised of neural cells, similar to those found in the brain.  There is quite literally a brain within your heart.  We will teach you about the science behind this.

Heart-Based Resiliency Training does not focus on the illness but rather the quality of life and hence it is based on positive psychology.   You will learn how to shift in positive heart-felt feelings such as peace, calm, gratitude, happiness, beauty, warmth, care, expansion and other heart-felt feelings. You will learn why being in the heart is the safest place to be.  Being more heart-centered can give you the space to be more accepting others imperfections, and thus we have a better chance to build a healthier personal or professional relationship that can benefit everyone. Being in your heart does not mean you become a person that people can easily take advantage of.  You can be firm in your actions but there is less emotional attachment and reacitivity.

Dr Ed Rubenstein one of the worlds leading heart guides and educators, will be helping to teach the participants in our program.  He has authored several books and a workbook about the heart. He conducts workshops for corporations such as the National Institute of Health. Psychiatrist's, MD's, therapist, social workers, and many others have attended Ed's workshop and attest to the personal and transformational growth they experienced.  This heart therapy is very helpful substance abuse, and PTSD, chronic depression, anxiety. If you are a mental health therapist you will find that when being better connected to your heart, you are better able to help your client.  Dr. Ed's program will teach you about the ten developmental stages of the heart and to incorporate using our hearts both in working with clients, as well as personal relationships.

As a Hospice Nurse, I found that Dr. Ed's workbook and workshops helped me to be so much more grounded in the present, and heart-centered  while supporting clients with their end of life challenges.  It has also helped me to be more grateful in my daily life for even the smallest things.

I set up a professional learning center to share with others, where people can come and learn more about the psychology of the heart, "Living a Heart-Centered Life", and HBRT.  We will use the material from Dr. Rubenstein's workbook to make transformational changes in all aspects of our lives. It is an easy, effective, and profound approach to personal growth and transformation.  Dr. Ed will be helping to teach and he will also conduct periodic workshops here in Tallahassee for this group.

I do offer this free Meetup as an introductory seminar twice a month.  For those interested in further and more comprehensive training, we will use a special workbook created by Dr Rubenstein.  This workbook includes such topic as:
