The Virginia Polar Dip was started by the Toth family in 2008 after a long history with Camp Sunshine. They first attended Camp Sunshine as a participating family in 1996 when their daughter Jennifer was a cancer patient at age 3, and they have returned as volunteers every summer since. After Jennifer participated in a Camp Sunshine Polar Dip in New Jersey, her family decided to bring the event to Virginia in order to help more local families.

    Hey everyone,
Glad to have you all attending the polar plunge to support Camp Sunshine. Some of us are planning to meet up before at Kalypso's between 12:30 and 1 then head over to the check-in. Please let me know if you plan to jump (spectators are welcome). If you are jumping you must check-in at the community center (check-in starts at noon and the plunge starts at 2pm). Last year we wore super hero costumes for the jump, thinking about Hawaiian shirts this year, any ideas? Don't forget a change of clothes for after too.
We're out to have a good time and raise money for Camp Sunshine. The link to our team fund raising site is below. Its a great cause, so please pass it along to your family and friends. Hoping to double last year's total and we're over half way there!

    See you all Saturday
