Just wanted to throw this out there as well: Reston Interfaith is also having a back-to-school backpack drive until Aug. 10 to equip needy children in the Reston-Herndon area from kindergarten to high school with new backpacks. They are asking for new, unused backpacks (no wheels or corporate logos). Larger sized 25-30 liter size backpacks are preferred. So if you are feeling extra generous, please feel free to bring a backpack as well to help children in our community.

The Welcome Home Baskets service project is assisting Reston Interfaith with their Transitional Housing. These baskets are given to families transitioning from homeless situations into more permanent housing. For the cookout, we are asking everyone to please bring one item from the list: Carpet Cleaner, Spray Glass Cleaner, Toilet Cleaner & Brush, Cleaning Spray, Laundry Soap, Paper Towels, Clothes Hangers, Tall Kitchen Trash Bags, Sponges, Dish Soap, Toilet Paper
