Resumes for More Attention, More Interviews, and the Job YOU Want

Standing out from the stack of competing resumes is more than a plus. When your resume delivers an incisive message the reader absorbs at a glance, you will earn more attention than the 2 to 6 seconds a reviewer typically spends on the first screening. A resume targeted to your preferred job category that shows you in action will produce more interviews. If you can project your strong capabilities along with your winning personality, achievements, and the challenges you have met, your resume results will improve.

Bring your resume for critiquing and suggestions by a professional resume writer/marketing communications expert and the other participants at this workshop. This free informal workshop focuses on the interests of participants and is intended to help attendees gain confidence in taking next steps.

The leader has written more than a thousand custom resumes across industries, job functions and experience levels. Learn more about resume services by clicking on the leader's website.Handouts cover tactics to present gaps in employment, transition to new job categories, and sort through the dilemmas of resume writing, such as one page/two page resumes, what to include or delete, dates, and many other issues.

Appreciated Marilyn's earnest, straightforward approach to the task of helping members sort through "do's and don't's" of résumé preparation, and am delighted to learn that she conducts these workshops/meetings on a regular basis.

As the organizer of this meetup I am impressed with the generosity of the attendees to share tips and ideas. At a recent workshop a member volunteered to send another member a list of companies in her area of interest. At other meetups people have meet each other and have learned that at some point they had worked for the same organization. It is not uncommon for me to leave a workshop and find a cluster or two of attendees continuing a discussion. Interesting how often help is found in unexpected ways and places.

Thanks to Marilyn for arranging this event. Arriving late, I only caught the second half of this Meetup, yet managed to glean some recommendations. The handouts were helpful. Will try to attend the next Meetup and plan to arrive much earlier.
