Attend this series of career workshops to learn techniques for telling your Peace Corps story in the job-search setting and exchange RPCV-specific career advice and best practices.
12 – 12:30 p.m. Q&A with Acting Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet
Peace Corps’ Acting Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet wants to hear from you and will be on hand to answer questions from RPCVs attending the Career Event.
2 – 4:30 p.m. RPCV Career Fair
Approximately 20 organizations in the public, private, and nonprofit sector will be on hand to meet with RPCVs about current and future job openings.
6 – 7:30 p.m. “Around the World with Peace Corps” Recruitment Event
Help prospective volunteers, current applicants, and invitees catch a glimpse of what it’s like to serve abroad in the Peace Corps.

9:30 – 10 a.m. Welcome Remarks
Peace Corps’ Acting Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet and Deputy Ambassador to the UN Rosemary DiCarlo will deliver opening remarks to kick off the day.
10 – 10:45 a.m. Demystifying the UN: An Overview
A UN hiring manager will discuss the UN structure and function, how to navigate the UN system, and career opportunities to get your ‘foot in the door’ at the UN.
11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Panel: Working at the UN
UN representatives from various agencies will be on hand to discuss the work they do as well as the overall role their agency plays within the UN.
1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Networking/Conversations with UN Staff
UN staff will mix and mingle with RPCVs and answer questions in this informal breakout session.
3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Peace Corps Response (PCR) Information Session
A PCR staff member will be on hand to inform RPCVs about exciting opportunities to serve overseas again in high impact, short-term assignments.
4:30 – 7:30 p.m. RPCV Networking Hour
Hosted by the local Brooklyn/Queens RPCV Group, RPCVs will be given the chance to unwind and chat with fellow RPCVs from the NYC area. This is a great opportunity to continue practicing the networking skills you learned during Thursday’s career sessions. Offsite – location TBD.
