Revit for Rendering, Visualization and Architectural Illustration

Dear RIRUG Community,

Our next Rhode Island Revit Users Group Meetup focuses on the use of Autodesk Revit for rendering, visualization, and illustration, with a concentration also on integrating Sketchup functionality into the process.

Our panel and presenters will consist of Matthew Valero LEED AP, ASAI - Architectural Illustrator for Durkee, Brown, Viveiros and Werenfels; as well as a representative from Microdesk who will demonstrate and discuss Revit's native rendering capabilities and Sketchup integration. We may also have the benefit of some other guests.

This is a great opportunity to enhance your knowledge of this aspect of Revit (and Sketchup) use, as well as see some interesting graphics, network with other users and  members, and continue to build our user community!

There will be a separate discussion group for specific questions that people would like to discuss during the Q&A, please also feel free to respond to this email.

See you all there,

Andy Keating  / Stack Design Build

Good MeetUp that covered a range of visualization media and workflows. While not Revit centric, the Meetup did address the basic visualization capabilities in Revit and how it does/does not integrate into vizualization work flows.

I liked to open forum (round table discussion), lent to the "more personal" feeling to the group. The topic again was very timely. I think the discussions from this topic has also brought up some future topics. It was good to see how others are using (not using) Revit rendering feature. Also I like the fact that there was time and discussion on "How we did this". I would encourage more of people showing "How we did this" approach. It's nice to see the fancy work, but better to share with the group the "how to" tips as well.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
