Time Duration 2.5 to 3 hours

    Blaze Orange:  REQUIRED

    HI Everyone , .

This is actually the beginning of the Narragansett Trail and one of the  nicest trails I have been on . With small hills, rock walls a couple of streams and   some narrow trails with  steep drops it is a great hike  . There are plenty of rock outcroppings and a nice view all the way .Did I mention the the dog pound and transfer station .  Once   on Lantern Hill you will be   eye  level with the Turkey Vultures and a view of Foxwoods to the North  .There are some rough spots but nothing to worry about but you need to be careful .The view is great with Fisher Island N.Y and the  Atlantic   to the South  and rolling hills and valleys East an West . . We then hike down the North side on Lantern Hill Trail following it on the West side out to the point. LOL, it will only take 15 minutes to do this .We will  head back on the Narragansett Trail mostly downhill . I am not sure of the mileage but I would estimate to be 5.5 to 6  miles . I would plan on being on the trail for at least 3 hours  or more hiking at a moderate pace with hills. Good foot ware is must along with food and water .Rain will cancel this hike.   .We will meet at the Park and Ride and car pool to the trail head . We will need a few volunteers for this.

    See you Saturday ,

    Tony
