Colt State Park and if you behave....dinner

Please read the entire Write Up and agree to the enclosed Liability Waiver before signing up for this event.
Event Rating: Moderate (Because of the length)
Distance: 6.0 Miles
Time Duration: 2 Hours
Blaze Orange: Not Required

We will walk three separate loops that if you do all three will end up being a total of six miles.

Colt State Park (CSP) in Bristol is often referred to as the 'gem' of the RI State Parks System. The entire western border of the park is an open panorama onto Narragansett Bay. Open year round, the park offers four miles of bicycle trails passing along the Bay and through 464 acres of groomed fruit trees, carefully nurtured flowering bushes, and manicured lawns. Rich in history, it proudly displays ten large playing fields, a historical museum, six picnic groves containing 400+ picnic tables and its' popular open air Chapel-By-The-Sea.
We will be meeting at five o'clock  at the statue of Senator Chafee across from the fishing pier parking lot in CSP. There is plenty of additional parking throughout the park.
Colt State Park is located off Hope Street (Route 114) in Bristol, RI. Headed south on RI 114, turn right at the traffic light onto Asylum road and follow Asylum Rood as it bears left toward a rotary. Turn right at the rotary past a kiosk to enter the park and follow the park road (Colt Drive) to the parking lot just past the bridge. The statue of Senator Chaffee will be on the left and the parking lot is on the right.

    To Everyone that Behaved,
I realize it's a stretch for some of us to behave, so I really appreciate the effort you made to make it through the hike, so we could eat dinner together:).
To all the Mothers' out there- Happy belated Mom's Day.

Hello, this was my first meetup if the next ones are anything like this one certainly not my last. The weather was amazing. I was a little nervous at first (just coming out of my shell) to meet new people and to he able able to have conversation. However it was easy to talk with everyone who went. I'm very greatful today to have met some really "nice people" the bonus was 6 plus mile walk.. Can't wait to ho to the next one

FYI, posting comments after a hike has started is useless. Some leaders don't have smartphones. Others do, but don't bother with comments once the hike has started. We have enough to keep us occupied.

Giggles, remember the "Best stories are the ones we create ourselves" so on that note, lets go create some new ones - muhahahaha

      May 9, 2013

    • Chris

Well, anything that does NOT make one giggle or go "muhahahaha" ... which Diana just self-inciminated herself for ...

You might as well take dinner off the table now. You *know* the people in this group aren't going to behave. If behaving just means nobody gets arrested, maybe you have a chance.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
