Here are the results from the feedback and facts learned putting this event together.
Kayaks: EMS will rent you a kayak for $50.00 the first day, $20.00 the second day. If you pick it up on Friday after 6 PM, you can keep it till Sunday. So that breaks down to a 3 day rental for 70 bucks. If you only want it for Saturday, it will cost $50.00 and you pick it up at the store. If your still interested in Kayaking at the party, it's your responsibility to rent. Call and reserved your kayak at EMS on Bald Hill Rd. Warwick,[masked], ask for Thor.
Biking: There was not enough of a interest in biking on this day. I did not have enough people to put a group together with a lead biker. If you still want to bike (off or on road), bring your bike and do your own route. There are a few people who want to bike, maybe you all can ride together.
Hiking: Plenty of people want to hike. We will divide people into hiking group depending on level of experience. Come prepared with plenty of water, bug spray, sun screen, hiking boots, and proper clothing.
Location: Sites "95 through 101" are reserved for our club. Look for the "orange" balloons and RIHC sign. There is a beach at Goddard Park, so bring your swimsuits if you want to go for a dip during the day.
Time: We will meet up at 9:00 AM to hike or kayak. If you just want to kick back and enjoy great company with plenty of nice people, come anytime!! We will gather around noon to have lunch.
Food: We have 7 pits to cook on. Bring your own coal if you want to use a pit. Bring your own grill if you like. BRING YOUR OWN FOOD to grill. I will bring my own food PLUS a dish to share. If most people do this we will have a nice cornucopia to pick on throughout the day. Please reply and state what kind of dish your going to bring to the table. Let's all be responsible and not keep that "dish" you bring to share in your hot car while you go on a long hike. Keep it chilled as best as you can, so none of us get food poison.
Beverages: Goddard Park's policy is "no alcohol allowed". Bring your own beverages to drink throughout the day. Water is the best choice to stay hydrated with. I suggest you wear a hat because it will help protect you from the sun.
Activities: "Let's kick Tony's butt" at Volleyball, Horseshoes, Bocce, sitting on a lounge chair soaking up the sun with a cold cup of water in hand.
Responsibility: If you join this event this implies that you agree that you alone are responsible for your welfare. Hike, kayak, bike, play, swim, eat, walk at your own risk!
